Why November Has Always Been a Game Changer for Me (And Can Be for You, Too)

I’ll let you in on a little secret: November has always been a game changer for me. It’s never been about waiting for January’s ‘new year new me’ or getting swept up in December’s chaos. For years, November has been the month where I take time out for an honest look back on the year so far…
By the time November rolls around, I’ve got 10 months of experience to look back on. I know what’s worked, and what hasn’t, what’s lifted me up, and what’s drained me. There’s no guesswork, only honest reflection. This is where I can make decisions from a place of clarity. I’m not chasing trends or setting fluffy goals. I’m choosing what matters, based on real evidence from my own journey.
I used to watch other business owners hit December in a panic, trying to squeeze in last-minute launches or tick off goals they’d ignored all year. I’ve been there, feeling stressed, overwhelmed, and like I’d failed. But when I started using November to check in with my goals, everything changed. I learned to focus on the things that actually matter, let go of the rest, and end the year feeling proud of all I’d achieved—not just relieved it was over.
And while everyone else is waiting for January (because everything is winding down for Christmas!), November is when I reflect on what’s worked, set my next 90 days goals and plan launches, events and collaborations. It’s also when I get honest about my pricing and offers. That way, I can actually switch off over Christmas—no guilt, no last-minute panic, just a sense of calm confidence that I’m already ahead.
There’s something about November that naturally brings a sense of reflection and reset.
The pace slows, the days get shorter, and I find myself asking the big questions:
What do I want next year to look like?
What needs to change?
How can my business support the life I actually want?
These aren’t impulsive goals, they’re grounded, aligned decisions that set me up for real growth.
And let’s not forget the practical side. Getting strategic in November isn’t just good for my mindset—it’s good for my bottom line. This is when I plan year-end offers, make smart investments before the tax year closes, and align my cash flow for a smoother start to the new year. Reviewing my services and pricing now means I step into January charging what I’m worth and attracting the clients I truly want to work with.
Honestly, November has become my secret weapon. Every year I lean into it, I finish stronger and start the next chapter with more clarity, focus, and energy. It’s not just another month—it’s the foundation for everything that follows.
So, if you’re ready to try it for yourself, grab your planner (and a cuppa), carve out a couple of hours, and give yourself the gift of clarity before the world gets noisy again.
Because here’s what I know, and that when January rolls around and everyone else is scrambling to get started, you’ll already be moving - clear, confident, and ahead of the curve. And that, I promise, is a game changer.

Loved your take on November being a game changer! Reading it actually reminded me of the Talladega Nights Jacket—bold, iconic, and full of personality. Sometimes a standout piece, like your insights or a jacket, can really shift perspective!
